Your Creativity is Calling You

Let 2026 be the year you jump in!

Your creativity is calling you. It hasn't given up or moved on. It's been waiting patiently and without judgment for you to come back. And it would very much like you to know that you're welcome anytime.

I'm writing this for the therapists and helping professionals who, somewhere along the way, started to believe that creativity was something other people get to enjoy…that it is a luxury, or a talent you either possess or don't, or something you can get back to someday when life settles down, maybe when you retire.

But you don’t have to wait. You haven’t used up your creativity. It's more like a conversation that gets interrupted, and creativity is still there, still interested, still waiting for you to come back and pick up the thread.

And when you do pick it up, something shifts. Research tells us that creative engagement restores our inner resources, builds resilience, and helps protect against burnout. But you probably already know this in your body, even if you forget sometimes. You know the feeling of losing yourself in making something, the way time opens up, and you come back to yourself feeling more alive, inspired and energised. Creativity connects us to parts of ourselves that get crowded out by the demands of work and life. That is, our curiosity, our playfulness, our joy, the parts that remember how to experiment and take risks and make something, just to see what happens. It fills the well that our work draws from.

You might have noticed it calling to you. That little spark when you see someone else making something. The wistfulness when you remember what it felt like to write or paint or play music, back before your work and life filled every corner. That feeling is an invitation.

The invitation is open

I know what it's like to let the creative parts of yourself go quiet while you pour everything into life, work and supporting others. I've talked to so many helping professionals who carry this sense that they have set aside something essential, and they're not sure how to get back to it.

The good news is that finding your way back is simpler than you think. You don't need to produce something brilliant or carve out hours of uninterrupted time. You just need permission to begin again, and maybe some company along the way.

That's why I created The Flourishing Way, an 8-session program for helping professionals who are ready to reconnect with their creative lives. If you’d like some support as you jump in, our next cohort starts on Wednesday, 4th February. You’ll join a small group of people who understand what it means to give so much of yourself to others. We will come together to explore creativity and well-being and remember what it feels like to make something, just for the joy of it.

Your creativity is ready when you are

You deserve to have parts of your life that are just yours, that fill you with energy and curiosity and play. And the people you support will benefit when you're connected to something that lights you up. Your creative life is calling, and it's been calling for a while now. Let this be the year you answer.

Doors are currently open to The Flourishing Way, our transformative program that brings together psychological and mindfulness-based approaches with hands-on creative exploration! It's designed to help you reconnect with the vibrant, playful parts of yourself to help you flourish in work and life.
